I have to say, issues of violence/mysogeny aside, it's a potentially great game that's all but ruined by lousy controls. In particular, I find targeting anything at all during a fight to be an exercise in frustration. Seems like you can have all the bad guys coming straight at you, but the moment you press the "lock on target" button, you're instantly aiming at the pedestrian walking across the street way off to your right, instead of the twelve guys right in front of you with their guns drawn. WTF? If you can take your time to aim, it works just fine. But in a game like this where they throw plenty of things at you at one time, "taking your time" is almost impossible. On top of that, the way they manage the whole camera angle thing seems really off the mark to me. The camera seems to lag way behind when you're making sudden moves - so if, for example, you're running down the street with someone chasing you, and you turn around, the camera doesn't follow. So you end up looking right at your character's face instead of seeing the guy with an axe who was chasing your character. If you then try to "lock on" the bad guy that you now can't see, you end up targeting the innocent bystander across the street again. Doesn't make for an especially good gaming experience.
I don't quite get how they can put so much depth and work into a game without addressing something so basic.
